Privacy policy

1. Creating and saving designs

Your design settings, including dimensions, material settings and any text you add to a model, are sent to our server to generate previews, calculations and printable files. These requests are processed to provide the features you use; they are not automatically added to a cloud design library. Generated STL and 3MF files are returned to your browser rather than kept as a server-side file collection.

Saved designs, the current draft, preferences and custom material profiles are stored in your browser on your device. Clearing CaseTinker's site data removes these local saves. Download a design backup first if you want to keep them.

2. Sharing a design

Creating a short share link stores a snapshot in our Cloudflare database. It includes the design name, model settings, lid text, material information, and any material notes or calibration details included in the design, along with a share code and creation date.

A full share link carries the design snapshot in the link itself and does not create a database record. Opening either type of link still sends the settings needed to generate the model to our server.

Anyone with either link can open and copy the shared design. Later edits or deleting your browser's saved design do not change an existing shared copy. Avoid putting private information in shared names, text or notes.

3. Visits, analytics and browser storage

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits and site performance. Reports include page views, referring sites, country, browser and device type, and loading performance. Cloudflare describes this service as using no analytics cookies or browser fingerprinting. Our app skips the analytics beacon when opening shared-design links.

Our hosting and delivery providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, browser information and errors to deliver and secure the service. We also use temporary request limits to reduce abuse.

CaseTinker's local browser storage supports saving and preferences; it is not used for advertising. PayPal may use cookies or similar technologies when its payment tools load.

4. Support payments and messages

If you open the Support window, we load PayPal's payment tools. PayPal processes optional one-time and recurring contributions. CaseTinker does not receive or store your full card number, security code or PayPal password.

We process payment references, amounts and status to verify contributions. PayPal may also make contributor details, such as a name and email address, available to Blue Hill Foundry in transaction records. We use these records for payment support, refunds, accounting and legal obligations, rather than storing a payer profile in CaseTinker's design database.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information or attachments you send. We use them to respond and handle your request.

5. Services that help us run CaseTinker

We use these providers for the functions described above:

• Render: app hosting and server processing. Render privacy policy.
• Cloudflare: shared-design storage and web analytics. Cloudflare privacy policy and Web Analytics information.
• jsDelivr: delivery of software used by the 3D viewer. Your browser connects to this service to load those files. jsDelivr privacy policy.
• PayPal: payment processing and transaction records. PayPal privacy statement.

Our email provider also processes messages you send us. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Their own privacy notices explain their practices. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse or security incidents.

6. How long information is kept

Browser saves remain until you remove them or your browser clears them. Short-link snapshots currently have no automatic expiration, so links can continue to work. Email us with the link if you want to request removal. Removing a stored snapshot breaks its short link but cannot remove copies other people have saved or a full link they already hold.

We keep support correspondence and business records as needed to resolve requests, maintain payment and accounting records, meet legal obligations and address disputes. Hosting logs, analytics and provider backups follow the applicable providers' retention settings and policies; we do not promise a single deletion period for all of these records.

7. Your choices and privacy requests

You can use CaseTinker without creating a share link or making a payment, remove saved designs through the app, and clear local information through your browser's site-data settings. Browser privacy tools can block analytics. Recurring Support payments can be managed or cancelled through PayPal.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, or object to or restrict certain uses. Contact contact@casetinker.com to make a request. Include the relevant share link or payment reference where applicable, but do not send passwords or card details. We may need to verify your request and retain information where the law requires it. You may also contact your local data-protection authority about a concern.

8. Children and policy updates

CaseTinker is intended for a general audience, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and address it.

We may update this policy as CaseTinker changes. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date.
